At present, industry computers are used for field engineering. They have rich interactive graph interface and network function. It is reasonable and practical for large system. But considering some mini monitoring system (or complex mini device), the disadvantage of large size, high price and requirement of high condition is emerged, with using industry microcomputers. Then some system used traditional microcontroller (such as 8-bit microcontroller) for monitoring system, but its ability of graph operation and interactive action, especially network building is so poor that can not meet the demand of application. It is more difficult to design system.This paper presents a pattern of embedded mini industry monitoring system, with 32-bit ARM9 MCXJ, Windows CE and necessary communication interface as inner core. The monitoring system has friendly interactive interface, unified programming platform and powerful network function, and has the characteristics of low power, high reliability and small size, at the meantime, it make the system development more easy.The main content in the paper is as follows:1) Studied the structure and application of the MCU S3C2410X with ARM920T as inner core. Designed an embedded controller with MCU S3C2410X as kernel. The embedded controller includes: power supply, keyboard, standard serial, LED, JTAG interface, LCD interface, USB interface, Ethernet interface, SDRAM (64M), NAND Flash (64M), NORHash (64M) etc.2) Studied the kernel structure, OEM layer and top application of Windows CE Used Platform Builder to build and customize platform, compiled operation system and customize object device, Transplanted BSP pack on the ARM platform.3) Studied the development of Device driver DLL on Windows CE platform. Compiled the code of MDD and PDD layer, developed the device driver about serial and USB on embedded controller.4) Studied the development of common function module of software on Windows CE platform, it included: communication, data management, curve of parameters, sate of switching value etc.5) Designed a simple embedded mini industry monitoring system based on ARM& Windows CE as development example.
