The rapid development of science and technology has nowadays greatly promoted the growth of all kinds of electronic medical equipment. Many kinds of instruments to monitor the health status of a body have been developed. The hardware and software solutions of a monitoring system to acquire the parameter of a body based on Windows CE and AT91SAM9261 have been put forward. The main function of this system includes collecting the data of ECG, temperature, SPO2 and blood pressure; saving data; showing real-time wave; replay of waveform data; sending the collected data to the workstation located in hospital; receiving information sent from the workstation and so on. The hardware of the system has been divided into several different modules on the base of AT91SAM9261. Efficient software is also developed on the operation system platform of Windows CE5.0.Basic architecture and main features of ARM, the whole structure of this system and design of the circuits of main modules are all analyzed in the aspect of hardware. System architecture and features of Windows CE, development tools of the kernel and application, methods of configuring Windows CE with Platform Builder5.0 and developing application software with eVC++5.0 are also introduced, and a conclusion is drawn that developing an embedded real-time system on Windows CE has brought a bright future.Development of the system to monitor the status of a body based on Windows CE and AT91SAM9261 is a new trying in the field of embedded system application and design of intelligent instruments to monitor the health status of a body. The system has the characters of friendly interface, dependable capability, extensibility of the hardware and software.
