With the development of Distributed Control System, the system function has become more and more perfect. The fourth generation provides an integrated information platform for the enterprise, the information that provided by this platform includes all process data, operation data and the company' s planning information. In cement plants, the integrated information become more and more important for the company' s controlling, producing and making plans.With the background of practical project, a Distributed Control System which has been applied to Guangzhou Yuexiu Heidelberg Cement Plant is discussed in this paper. First, this paper analyzes the process flow of the cement production according to the requirements which are provided by the customers, and gives a controlling scheme about this plant. And then, this paper analyzes the type-selecting, structure, hardware and software design. In the part of hardware design and system functions analysis, the principle of Progammable Logic Controller(PLC) is mainly discussed, based on this, the function blocks that is applied to implement the system controlling is introduced.In the part of network analysis and design, this paper designs the system network using the Fieldbus Profibus-dp and SIEMENS Industrial network based on the technology analysis concerning the Profibus and Industrial network.Finally,this paper gives the design about process operation pictures and system reports.The system fulfils the requirements of user well, and has achieved favorable results and been well approved by the customers.
