The Recognition System Of Barcodes Based On The Machine Vision

When the bar codes are recognized in producing and on-line delivery, the traditional photoelectric method becomes inefficient because of the fast move speed, variety of products and difference in distance.A new method based on machine vision is introduced in this paper to recognize the bar codes automatically. Using efficient image manipulations like geometric transformation, filter, threshold and so on, fast mode-identify method and a date-base well designed, the barcode pictures captured by high-speed CCD can be recognized fast and accurately.In this paper, the following work has been done, mainly including:(1) Based on the request of on-line barcodes recognition, the system structure has been designed. A set of right hardware and system software has also been chosen.(2) Aiming at the images of barcodes, the design of the algorithms of the image processing has been emphasized.(3) According to the configuration feature of the bar code, the barcodes can be read by calculating the distance of edge to similar edge.(4) The application system based on VC++ 6.0 has been employed.The results of many experiments have indicated that the recognition system of barcodes is efficient and steady, and the application prospect of the system is wonderful.
