Machine vision has been widely used in the industry,agriculture sectors at home and abroad, and it increasingly becomes an important way of detection.With the specialization of machine vision and image processing, the potential usage of machine vision is becoming more and more broadly in the field of security.This paper focuses on achieving card recognition based on machine vision and image processing technology in-depth study. The traditional method of recognizing the card needs to put the card into the reader or besides it,so it will inevitably result in low efficiency. Reading system for card based on machine vision is mostly used for chest card. We use high-speed CCD to get card images without human intervention,then use effective image manipulations and pattern recognition methods like geometric transformation,filter,threshold and so on to transform the images into machine-reader form.Lastly we use software programs to process the digital images to get the appropriate information and the card could be recognized fast and accurately.The matter in this paper contains six sections,mainly including:1. The actuality and trend of machine vision have been introduced generally. The significance of this paper has also been presented.2. The technology of card image collection,which achieved by CCD camera and image collection equipments and aimed to processing and recognizing subsequently,has been expatiated.3. Some image pretreatment technology such as image enhancement,image segmentation has been expanded, which include the different methods of code and word recognition.4. In the step of card recognizing,the method of code and recognition have been designed and implemented.5. The frame work and implement method of recognizing system have been recommended.6. The work of this paper has been summarized;the shortage of this system has been induced;and the future task has also been discussed.
