With the development of production technology and the use of surface mounted technology, SMT Assembly Products are prone to more lays, smaller volume and more density, which makes the installation and produce realize automation in the electronic manufacturing industry. But the traditional examination methods can not satisfy the new surface mounted technology both in the measuring ability and speed. And the quick, reliable and automatic examination for the quality of installation has become an important technology, which can improve the automatic level and the product quality. The automatic examination based on machine vision is population at present. The machine vision examination is a Multi- high technology, including Computer, high speed image process and identify, Auto-control, Exact machine and Optical technology, which is automatization, fast, high distinguish ,also can lighten woke intensity, improve quality distinguish objectivity and veracity.The paper studies the image collection, processing, select characters, design class and the whole system integration in the SMT solder quality examination technology based on the machine vision. The first chapter introduces the domestic and foreign situations of the SMT productions examination technology and explains the positive measuring of the study. The second chapter introduce the mainly vices of solder quality, the SMT solder quality examination measures and its bounds, then mainly introduce the machine vision examination technology and its advantage in the industry examination. The third chapter explains capture the real-time images based on the CCD camera and SEED-VPM642 video capture card, analyses the solder image characteristic and chooses the adaptive image process arithmetic. The forth chapter based on the solder image characters, introduce the method of distilling features and designing classified. The fifth chapter using VC++6.0 as the development platform, the system combines the common processing and analyzing image by means of image process enhancement, smoothness, region segmentation, morphological processing, feature extraction and so on .Based on the image processing and recognition, the system realizes the functions of inspection soldering tin printed quality and solders quality, including the inspection of no solder, bridge, solder open and so on.
