Now with network technology rapid development, the advanced science technology of some subjects fields get great progress including computer science and communication. The passed information collecting system has not satisfied the request with requirement increasing of complexity, veracity and the trait of in time for malfunction diagnosis of machine. So the research on the remote data collecting of product line control system based network get more and more important. The article, which takes Li/MnO2 button battery automatic production line as an example, sets forth the setting-up of the software and hardware of the remote data collecting system of based on PSTN and Internet, and has carried on organic combination of the on-the-spot equipment and long-range network.The remote data collecting based on PSTN mode is according to the communication protocol of Modem, adopting PSTN as connection media. Through parameters configure of AT instructions, and make use of communication application to realize the connection between Modems. Combining monitoring function of CX-Programmer through serialport, we have realized the connection and communication between client and PLC.I adopted two kinds of implement projects in the process of developing the research on the remote data collecting based on internet: (1) The remote data collecting based on the technology of Winsock;(2 ) The remote data collecting based on the technology of SQL Server database.Under Client/Server mode, the remote data collecting system based on the technology of Winsock is realized through Winsock technology and VC++6.0 Object-oriented programming technology according to TCP/IP protocol. Multithreading technology is adopted to improve the real-time communication. The whole system adopts dividing layer and the Object-oriented design method, in possession of the characteristic of structure modularization, interface simple, good adaptability etc. Finally I get an open remote data collecting system. This system is debugged by the experiment successfully.I use Visual C++ as tools of the remote data collecting based on the technology of SQL Server, and regard SQL Server 2000 as the database running backstage, exploit the application programme under Client/Server mode. Make use of the technique that the SQL Server has already to register an example of server of SQL Server in network. Exploit the server communication application programme utilizing the most advanced technology of visiting database—active data object (ADO) , hich can realize that the server can connect and visit the SQL Server database, and can also renew the data in the database with the data which comes from PLC in time.The client communication programme can connect and visit the databasemaking use of some controls, and show the inquiry result using some corresponding controls. In that case, operator who stays on client can get a plenty of data, and through analyzing the data the operator can learn the running condition of the remote automatic production line. This system is debugged by the experiment successfully.
