With high rapid developments of Internet network, Internet has made a greataffect on the developments of modern society. The embedded Internet technologyenables electronic instruments to access Internet, which makes remote detection, remotecontrol and remote maintenance easy. The application of embedded Internet technologymust have great future in fields of industrial control and information electronicequipments, etc.General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) is the new bear service, which isdeveloped from GSM network. GPRS networks provide packet-switched servicesbasedon internet protocol (IP), which make End-user can access the external packetdata network--Internet. The data communication based on GPRS has so many featuressuch as "online forever", fast data transmitting and the bill is cheap. The embedded system, which has been completed, used the CPU based onRDC1610, and use MC35 as communication module. The software has been developedunder the embedded operation system: BORLAND C++ 3.1. Using GPRS network, theequipment has realized the embedded Internet technology. In conclusion, the main works of this paper are described as following:1.Finished the embedded development hardware ETR232I platform design whichis based on RDC1610 core.2.Accomplished to program to the platform as application.3.Implement UDP,TCP,PPP protocols on the embedded system, and thesystem can detect online or not and redial to access internet again by itself. 4.Desigin RTU control unit. The result of experiment shows that the equipment has the characteristics ofsteadiness, reliability, and fast data transmitting and cheap. It fulfilled the scheduledremands.
