With short of the energy and the national energy-saving strategy, the high-frequency SMPS with great efficiency has been applied in many areas such as telecommunication, information, home electronics and national defense. To improve the switching frequency, the power rating and some other capabilities is the hot point of high-frequency high-power SMPS. This paper presents the controller design of high-frequency high-power SMPS. It includes the principles of switching power supply, controller scheme choosing, DC voltage and current power supply controllers designing. The isolation driving and protecting circuits are also presented. At the end, simulation and experimental results on the controllers are given.In accordance with the different special demands of the production process for SMPS, this paper respectively designs the bias supply controller and the target supply controller of the magnetron sputtering ion-plating system by applying peak-current mode and current-loop mode and taking full advantage of the superexcellent performance and perfect functions of the PS-FB-PWM integrated controller UCC3895.In the design, some issues are emphasized such as the slop compensation in the peak current mode, the performance of closed-loop system, the realization of protection ,voltage stabilization with current combination and current stabilization with voltage limitation, drive and isolation.The simulation model of UCC3895 is constructed with the general devices in the PSpice library for the deficiency of PSPICE9.1 and the most part of its functions have been realized. Furthermore, it has been incorporated into the FB-ZVS-PWM converter. The simulation results verify the design, and gives some further advises for practice.In the end, some experiments have been done and the results of them have been analyzed.
