Research Of Software Process Improvement Based On CMM

With the rapid development of software demand, software development is increasing sharply. Putting forward the CMM is for directing improvement the software process for the software organization, for enhancing the controlling and management of the software development process. For the small and middle software corporation, with the direction of CMM, taking actions of process improvement and development improvement, is the effect method to improvement the controlling and management for themselves. Basic theory of CMM, the conception and relatively theory of software process improvement are studied. Method and main point of software process improvement be analyzed. CMM and some other methods of software process improvement are compared. For the characteristic of program of Wireless Local Loop, one life cycle model of software development process fitted for the project is constructed, which named increment model, including nine steps, such as requirement specification, high layer design, coding, test, document, and so on. And actions of every step of this model are described detailedly. In the phase of implement, a method of software process improvement with the CMM is putted forward. And the evident effects according to this project are discussed. Only some contents of the require management, software project planning, software project tracing and oversight, software quality assurance and software configuration management are mentioned. Those activities explain the concept of quantitative process management of CMM very well. With the direction of CMM, the documented standard process guarantees the stability of effect. The practice proved the efficiency of the method, which aims at using CMM to improve process capability instead of win the certification.
