More and more museum emerges the socialization tendency, as like the globalizing of the world. At 1974 ICOM (International Council of Museums) defined the museum as "a non-profit making, permanent institution in the service of society and of its development, and open to the public, which acquires, conserves, researches, communicates and exhibits, for purposes of study, education and enjoyment, material evidence of people and their environment", which means that museum transfer its focus from "object"to "people"& the human-object relationship. So the mission of museum changes to "education"from "collection and study". The basic issue is that designer trends to attend architecture and aesthetic while ignore consciousness of audience. As a result, if a psychologist came in some museum, he would find some faults which block even stop the study of audience. Gestalt Psychology is used to be the guidelines of display design but can't afford enough coach on improving education affection of display. While Cognitive Psychology is the new subject which focus on consciousness including apperceive, attention, memory, forgetting etc. There is close connection between consciousness and education, so it's possible that museum display helps audience better learning if the design behavior---education conductor is guided by the audience's (education acceptor) study process. The thesis proposes three principles: stimulation is the main body in museum design; create the room for memory; avoid forgetting. These principles come from the research on consciousness process. These principles are applied in the project "Theme design for Dongguan science and technology museum".
