Analysis Of Human Survival In The Age Of Visual Culture

Visual culture has been the reality of the culture field and communication field. Many factors results in it ,such as the visual instinct of human being, social attitudes of the consumer society ,rapid development of media science and technology and urbanization of life style. However, this kind of culture doesn't have total positive meaning for human being. It has brought on something named visual swerve or image swerve .This has changed the environment of man. Thinking in a rationalistic way relying on language has given place to thinking in a perceptual way relying on visual. Image has became the tool of thinking in place of language and changed man's visual angle of looking into the society. Because of this change, language has been banished. The simulation of culture which depends on media science and technology has engendered hyperreality. Image separates from reality, and it also separates something points and what it can point. Hyperreality, the result of vision , has constructed a reality anew . It is more actual than reality. Reality has been banished in the environment of hyperreality. Body has lost its significance surrounded by medias and images. Space has changed its differences and the area where human living in result of the extension of image. Body has also been banished. When visual culture becomes the most important culture, it also take much compressive stress to people. As to this, to hold intellectual criticism and media self-discipline is good for breaking the predicament of visual culture.
