In order to increase the reliability of communication system, numerous academician had do a great deal of research. Error-correctting codes begin being, it can improve the reliability of communication system by reduce the speed of transmission. Reed-Solomon code as a usual encode way,had been more and more popularity in the field of mobility communication, satellite communications,digital broadcast communication,optical store and so on.FPGA((Field Programmable Gate Array) grow more and more fast.it had been the one of the leading stage to realize the digital system.The traditional application of RS code is by one-dimiension hard decode.This paper give the encode way of 2-dimention matrix intertexture on the basis of the research of encode and decode principle ,.and give the Planar Join Modify Algorithm focus on how to modify the soft information.(1) analyzing the basic principle of RS encode and decode.Researching the structure of each module in the decode algorithm carefully,and do a lot of optimizing work in special type code.(2) analyzing the usual soft-decodealgorithm such as GMD,Chase,and so on. Simulating the hard-decode and soft-decode algorithm in matlab enviorment.(3) introducing the usual process of FPGA development,having do simulation, synthetization,implemention of each decode module in ISE plant of XILINX corporation.(4) Giving the structure and decode algorithm of RS product code. Analyzing the affection that noise on signal and how to correct the soft information in the process of iterative decode,. Giving the planar join modify algorithm.at last, do the simulation and FPGA realization of the soft-decode and hard-decode of RS product code.
