The revolution of TV is a digital revolution all over the world, Digital TV technology is not only the trend of future development on TV industry, but also the necessary of improving broadcast to be internet.Now, China is promoting the triple play which also needs the digital television technology. DVB-C is the transmission standard of Europe, which using the cable network as the transmission medium. China's cable TV standard is following with the DVB-C standard and now more than 70% area using cable television. Stream Analyzer have a very wide range of applications in the digital TV programming, network transmission, system debugging and other aspect.Now, many companies have developed similar devices, but most of them are expensive or inconvenient to carry for it's too big or have a different using habit we can't farmilar with it. So they are difficult to meet the development of digital television technology. Therefore it has special significance for us to develop TS analyzer which is affordable and easy to use.This subject based on the reality of the rapid development of digital TV,combined with the domestic and international development of TS analyzer status, designed embedded transport stream analyzer based on DVB-C standard. The design using Altera's FPGA and integrated tuner DCF1/W378 as hardware platform. The project design tuner expansion board based on DVB-C standard. First, according to channel condition we make the necessary configuration to Tuner with I2C interface, then send the transport stream into the FPGA with 8bits data interface. We construct embedded system based on Nios, then develop program on the Nios system for the whole stream extracted and analyzed, finally, send data to ethernet through DM9000A. For we using FPGA as the core of the hardware platform, the design has proposed a flexible, low power consumption, small size, low price, and easy to carry. Not only suitable for a fixed location for transport stream analysis and testing but also can be used as mobile monitoring equipment when it has little reformed.Finally, the verification shows that the subject of the expansion board could fulfill the tuning and demodulating of the transport stream. FPGA has completed analysis function of transport stream, and send the data to internet by DM9000A. This design accounts about a quarter of the hardware resources,have reached a balance on performance and resource consumption. It has some reference value, and make the foundation for future study.
