The development of Digital Television not only comes with the rapid progress made by technology, but also brings forward some technical problems. When exploiting digital TV products, supervising or repairing the digital TV system, a device that can transmit or capture digital TV transport stream (TS) will be useful. Especially in some fieldwork, a portable device will be a better choice.USB 2.0 technology has got a widely use because of its convenience, low-cost and low-power. The 480Mbps signaling rate at High-Speed mode can fulfill most video and audio applications.This dissertation has designed a portable device that can transport TS, including transmitting TS through ASI output interface, capturing TS through ASI input interface and capturing TS through DVB-C RF interface.The essential work of the design was the exchange of USB 2.0, ASI and DVB-C RF interface, so they were illuminated at the beginning. Then designed the system of the device and developed the hardware under a fully thought of portable use.Software designing was the emphasis of the whole work. The developing process of the FX2LP firmware, the USB driver and the application were introduced detailed in this paper, and also for the CPLD designed by the hardware description language.The testing process went with the developing process and a better testing process would do a better job. According to the different functions, vary testing environments were found for a strict test.Finally, the device achieved the transport functions and realized the designing work.
