With the rapid development of coputer technology,electronic technology and communication technology,audio processing technology has widely used in many areas. because of the field of application processing system and the implementation of specific barks with the approach that there is a big difference,and the method of dealing with the audio is also different,it's a great of significance.to shorten the media product development cycle if we can creat a common audio processing platform,and make initial research and development according to different needs on this platporm。The audio processing platform has included a core processor chip and an FPGA chip. TMS320DM642 chip in TI company is recognized the good performance of the audio and video processors by the industry, and is a fixed-point 32-bit DSP chip which is designed specifically for multimedia application. It's very nice to meet the requirements of the audio signal processing because of its good processing performance and rich on-chip peripherals. The paper used TMS320DM642 as core chiop for the processing platform. Xilinx Spartan3 XC3S1000 chip is chose to the FPGA chips, which is used for the expansion of processor interface and some auxiliary processing functions.The Platform includes 8 audio outputs, which can complete verification up to 8-channel audio at the same time, and includes a 512M NAND FLASH, which can store 2 audio test file for 2 hours of, or 6-channel test file of audio for 40-minute.The paper has finished the hardware design based on TMS320DM642 + FPGA. The DSP chip is for processing signal algorithms, and FPGA is for the extension of interface circuit. The paper supply for the design of the DSP and FPGA's peripheral hardware, and testing the circuit, and interconnecting the DSP and FPGA chip through the FIFO. FPGA processor extends the FLASH's storage space, so that the maximum storage is expanded from 4M to 512M. Finally, the platform verifies the decoding process of the audio formats of the AC3 5.1 channel and DTS5.1-channel and playback them in real time.
