In audio processing domain, digital audio technology has been taking the place of the traditional analog technology, which has become a developing trend. Digital audio processor are widely used in home theater, audio systems and other equipments, therefore, the design of an efficient, multi-functional digital audio processor is of far importance.Taking the project"Theoretical Research on Key Techniques and Integrated Design of High Performance Digital Audio Processor"as background, a kind of"programmable audio processor support stereo input"system solution is presented after a detailed research on audio broadcast system and digital audio processing technology. This solution realizes all digital processing from the sound source to the speaker, and makes the design of low-cost, high performance, compact sound system possible.This system has a standard serial audio input interface, supporting multiple audio input formats (I2S, Left-justified and Right-justified). And functions as sound equalization, volume control, dynamic range control, DC-filtering and de-emphasis, are included. With the automatic frequency detect function, it can detect the sample rate of the input audio signal and load the appropriate filter coefficients automatically. In addition, users can configure internal control registers and filter coefficients through I2C interface, which allows the users to set the appropriate parameters according to the specific application environment.The paper is focused on formulation and implementation of the system scheme. Firstly, the relevant algorithm of the audio signal processing is designed and then the feasibility is verified by MATLAB. Secondly, according to the function requirement, RTL code is done with Verilog and simulated with Modelsim platform .Finally, system verification is done by using the FPGA device.
