So far, FPGA has gone through 20 years of rapid development process since Xilinx invented the first piece of programmable logic device-FPGA in 1984, especially in recent years. The logic size of FPGA has developed from the original 1000 usable gates to today's 10 million. FPGA has being more and more to replace the traditional ASIC because of its electronic system miniaturization, low power consumption, high reliability, short development cycle and low cost advantages. In this paper, FPGA is used as the logic control chip to develop image data source board for testing purposes.This paper first discusses the feasibility of the design, and focuses on the implemental foundation of the card and a number of key technologies, including SDRAM memory chips, PCI bus protocol, FPGA, Verilog HDL hardware logic language and Camera Link protocol. For the design of the card, firstly, select the appropriate hardware circuit according to the needs and actual situation to draw schematic and design printed circuit board. Then use Verilog HDL hardware description language for FPGA programming. In the end, complete the internal logic design of FPGA to realize the control of each functional module.In part of the test validation, for the driver, use SDK development package provided by PLX to realize PCI9054 chip-driver because of its good matching properties with PLX chip. For the host computer application, use the API interface functions in SDK development package, which has high operational efficiency to PCI9054. Finally use Plx Mon and SignalTapII to complete debugging of PCI9054 and FPGA modules.The successful development of the system researched in this subject has great significance for optimizing test of image acquisition card. This technology is easy to promote and has some practical value.
