With the development of social informatization,Information technology education has been compatible with education information literacy about the needs of the society and gone beyond the stage of simple computer technology training. Information technology courses has undergone profound changes that happened from the course ideas to course objectives, course content up to teaching, curriculum evaluation in the new context. According to the requirements, teacher should give new ideas, new methods and new technology about modern education into specific teaching. Study has been launched about PBL mode of teaching at the University of Information Technology in this article which from the Angle of teaching mode. In this paper, the popular PBL teaching mode in foreign countries were described, and discussed the theoretical basis of this model and the information technology in the use of the advantages of this mode, and PBL teaching model applied to teaching practice.The background and research significance of the study was presented In the first chapter. In the second chapter, first, "project" and "project-based learning" was explained, and the characteristics of project-based learning was described, and a more detailed analysis about project-based learning was carried out. Finally, several advantages about project-based learning which apply into Information Technology teaching was induced. in the third chapter, discussed teachers and students various activities based on the main line to be designed of PBL process which means the project-based learning model of instructional design. Chapter IV is a case study, some project theme were offered to students to design according to learning activities which based on the previous theoretical study and design patterns. And the corresponding evaluation system to evaluate the project completion process and learning outcomes was provided, Finally, the data were statistically analyzed. PBL model was summed up the positive role of learning that students studied in Chapter V, Then pointed out a number of shortcomings and future research directions about this study.PBL mode of teaching has a positive effect about university information technology and stimulate interest in learning from the conclusion of this study which came from collation and analysis about various data collection during the study. Practical operating capacity, application capabilities and innovation capacity has been greatly improved from PBL being applied into students learning, and expand their information collection, exchange expression, project management and evaluation capacity, at the same time, PBL model has played a positive and effective role in the cultivation of professional ability and team spirit of students.
