With the rapid development of wireless communication technology, the high quality local oscillation signal is really needed. Compared of all the frequency synthesizers, the charge pump PLL frequency synthesizer is used much more than the other frequency synthesizer. The integer frequency synthesizer based on ATMEL SiGe-HBT 0.8um technology is presented for 1.16~1.218GHz signal, using ADS for software design environment. First of all, not only the characteristic of ADS and SiGe-HBT technology is introduced, but the differences between different processes are also referred. On that basis, the key passive components which include inductance and variable capacity are designed, including the influence of inductance and variable capacity for the whole loop. Then based on the theory analysis and direction, every module is designed and simulated. And Key point is realization of the high quality double cross coupling VCO and programmable 2/3 divider in the high frequency. At last, the result of ADS is also presented. For comparison, the result of system modeling by MATLAB/Simulink is also presented, which is ideal. And the ADS result quite accord to the ideal one.The simulation is done, the result of which cover all the required frequency range 1.16G~1.218GHz. The locked time is 6us, and the phase noise is -127dBc/Hz at the offset frequency of 1MHz. That can reach the requirement of Beidou system.
