In the Reform Movement of China, the"Xiang Newspaper"was born as part of the Reform Movement in Hunan. The newspaper was organized by Xiong Xiling, Tan Sitong, Tang Caichang and et. It closely related to the Southern Association and the Shiwu School, and the three together was the center of public opinion. "Xiang Newspaper" and its opinion reflected the activities of reformers and political ideas mainly. The opinion of Xiang Newspaper include discourse, notes, correspondence,and so on. On the whole, The content of the opinion can be divided into three categories. The first category is the opinion on criticizing the tyranny and promoting civil rights, and the second is the reform and the development in practice and the third is the learning of Western politics and others. The opinion emphasize the importance of equality, freedom and civil rights. It also emphasize the reform on political, economic, cultural, educational, and social .In particular, the opinion published was radical in Reform Movement and Democratic Enlightenment, and it had a strong social reaction. Xiang Newspaper had strong political features. At the same time, it had some uniqe characteristics, such as the the radical nature, the local features, and the innovation of article style.The opinion of Xiang Newspaper impacted the society deeply. It publicized the view of salvation and reform, promoted the Reform Movement in Hunan province, encouraged the society towards to modernization, helped the scholars to change the values, and created the comments atmosphere by modern media. And then, from the whole analysis, we can get the experience for the modern media. For example, when you are writing an article, you must catch the theme of the times, and have the unique views.
