Libraries have spent much money on e-book, or manufacture it in order to increase resources, during the course of library modernization that library will trend to network,digital and intelligent direction. E-book has brought huge impact and profound influence to library, it not only puts forward higher requirement for library's software environment and hardware environment, but also brings to far-reaching effects on books purchasing, cataloging, borrowing, Collection structure, Reader training, library assessment, Staff quality and copyright protection. There are some encouraging aspects in using e-book in library that the funds have been increased quickly for years, e-book has been one of important information resources, and more and more readers are favor of it, according to investigation on representative libraries, data analysis, synthesis ,summing and reader survey. Meanwhile, there are so many problems that the format and standard of e-books are different; the contents of e-books are not new, sale models are premature, copyright protection is not satisfied, reader training is not good enough, and library is lack of compound talents. All these factors lead to some problems on e-book purchasing and using, which are popular in many libraries. So, library should transform the idea positively, and understand of the impact and role of e-book correctly, and improve the software environment and hardware environment, and strengthen purchase, catalog and copyright protection, and cooperate with other libraries in order to promote the sharing of e-book resources. The e-book technology and sales model will trend to mature and perfect gradually. Library will strengthen copyright protection more than ever. E-book will be used widely, which will promote library's network and digital direction. During the course of library's network and digital, e-book will play a greater role, which will promote e-book itself. In the future, e-book and library will promote each other and complement each other.
