Aiming at the low utilization rate of information resources existing in the digital libraries of institutions of higher learning, the insufficient attention to and utilization of data in the database and the inadequate-ly-developed information, this paper introduces data mining technology to the management of information resources and simultaneously makes a deep-going study of theory and experiment.To begin with, this paper introduces the background of studying this subject, the situation of domestic and internal study, and the significence of data mining to the university digital library.Then, it states the concept, main tasks and application of data mining and makes an analysis of SAS language and the factors that affect data mining results.Finally, it makes an analysis and study of Web useage logs mining on the basis of the data mining model formed with SAS data mining software and SQL Server 2000 which realizes the clustering analysis of readers groups and the as-sociating analysis of books borrowing data. What is more, it applies the data mining model which is made of with SAS data mining software and SQL Server 2000 to the Web useage logs mining so that it brings into re-ality the clustering analysis of users and digital resources and the asso-ciating analysis of digital resources, and gets scientific and reasonable results. Through the above analysis and research, it is proved that applica-tion of data mining techniques to the management of digital library in-formation resources in college and university digital libraries contributes to that digital libraries provides different user-groups with targeted digital resources so as to translate into reality the personalized services of digital resources.The application can also furnish reliable grounds for the pro-curement and management of digital resources and optimize their struc-ture.It is helpful to identifying the mutal associations between different digital resources, optimizes the web site structure of digital libraries and improves the efficiency of using digital resources.
