Mounter as the most productive equipment has played a crucial role in the domain of SMT.Mounter is currently mainly applied in large and medium-sized enterprises and serves for large surface mount technology product line which produce some electronic product through the market survey. But,it is rarely used for small business and individual. So,in order to meet all the request of the market, the paper based on the currently technology about mounter studies for the mounter. These creative methods that the thesis have come up with by low-cost and miniaturization design ideas will be able to be better served for the development of different types, different scale electronic product manufacturing industry. This paper consists of the following four parts to study mounter.At first,the paper has given a new idea for the design of the construction of the whole machine. Compared with the traditional mounter,the paper has given an optimization design for the feeder system,transmission system and the head of the mounting aiming at low cost, practical characteristics on mounter. And focusing on the two transmission mechanism of the head of the mounting,the thesis mostly designed for the cam mechanism.Secondly,the paper has researched the X-Y axis of joint control algorithm aiming at the motion control system about mounter and realized the route of the head of mounting when it motion. It has laid a solid theoretical foundation. for the orientation and shift process of the head of mounter. Thirdly, the thesis has studied the simulation environment of the virtual prototype of mounter aiming at the control algorithm of the mounter's movement. The simulation environment is applied for various control algorithm of the virtual prototype to be simulated. The last, the paper has studied how to design the software and the hardware of mounter's motion controller through the development of embedded controller. The research and development of the controller has a practical reference significance to the motion control of mounter.
