Chip mounter is the fundamental equipment of the electronic manufacturing industry as well as the bottleneck in the electronic assembly production line.A placement machine contains a lot of parts,the most imporment of which is the motion control system,which determines the speed and accuracy of the machine directly.Therefore,this paper designs and implements the software of chip mounter motion control system for TS-320M based on Trio MC464 motion controller.The main contribution of this paper is the software scheme which designs for chip mounter motion control system and the optimization method for optimization problem of chip mounter assembly time.In respect to the hardware of the motion control system,we analyse some essential parts for chip mounter such as motion controller,placement head,X-Y gantry and printed circuit board transmission positioning system in detail according to the overall plan.In respect to the software scheme of the motion control system,we modularly partition and design the software based on the functional requirement and character of chip mounter,focusing on the design of communication protocol between host computer and slave computer.Meanwhile,we develop host and slave computer program such as edit program,optimization program,production program,PCB entrance program,component pick program,placement program,PCB output program and mark vision process.Thus,these challenges in motion control of chip mounter such as collaborative control between host computer and salve computer,real time cycle control and multi-axis control were finally settled.Furthermore,we use TS-320M to perform some tests for the software of chip mounter motion control system.At last,we focus on the research of optimization problem of chip mounter assembly time on the ground of our hardware analysis and software design in order to improve the efficiency of the machine.For scheduling this optimization problem,a heuristic solution approach is presented.First,the feeders are assigned to locations in the magazine of the chip mounter by greedy algorithm.Then,based on the assignment of component feeders to magazine positions,the component placement sequence is determined by savings heuristics.Finally,local search method is applied in order to improve the feeder assignment and the component placement sequence obtained.Numerical experiments are performed in order to test the performance of the solution at the end of the paper,which establishes the theoretical foundation for optimization program in motion control system.
