In the network technology and electronic technology increasingly mature, network camera also has rapid development, and has an alternative to "Image Sensor+capture card" traditional image capture mode trend. Also, low-cost high-performance network camera in the automatic measurements, equipment testing, security monitoring and other industrial measurement has a increasing demand. However, the current domestic network camera is still in development stage, the proposed network camera based ICX267AK design in research and development of the network camera has important theoretical and practical significance.The structure and working principle of CCD image sensor has been studied in-depth. CCD and CMOS image sensors has been comared based on the sensitivity, cost, noise, power consumption and other aspects. ICX267AK image sensor structure and working principle has been analyed in detail and network camera based on the image sensor ICX267AK has been designed. The following several tasks has been completed:First, designed the drive timing of ICX267AK useing hardware Description language VHDL and Altera's CycloneⅡseries FPGA; Second, transformed the ICX267AK analog signals into digital signals using AD9949A; Third, collected the AD9949A output digital'signals into processor S3C6410 by linux operating system platform, and preliminary processes the data collected; Fourth, compressed the image data by the IJG library so as to greatly reduce the burden of network transmission; Fifth,realized the network transmission using TCP transmission control protocol.ICX267AK timing driven of image sensors, amplification and AD conversion, image capture, JPEG image compression and image transmission, and other basic functions has been completed. The hardware circuit is stable, reliable.Experiments show that the image quality is better collected, collection frequency can reach 15 frames/sec, image capture resolution of up to 1392×1040, or 1.45M. Data can be smooth and complete transmiss.
