Static Image Acquisition And Compression Based On TMS320VC5402

Since the technology of micro-electronics, computer science and the technology of communication has kept on developing at very fast speed. Image is utilized widely as the carrier of information. As a result, the technology of Image processing and transmission is needed urgently more and more. At the same time, DSP chip is used widely in image processing and transmission field, because it's integration density, computing speed and digital taking in and sending out rate is improved continuously. In this paper, a digital image impress system is described for discussing the technology of grabbing,compression and storage of the static image. Then the MCU deliver the compressed data to the computer to complete the subsequence process.First, the system scheme is stated at the beginning the paper, TMS320V5402 has been used as main processor, CMOS image sensor as signal source and CPLD as logical controller. Then, the paper gives a general description of the process of this system.As follows, the paper gives details of the three main functional modules. In the video capturing module, after a brief introduction of the main integrated circuit (IC) SAA7111, the paper mainly analyzes the initializing and setting method of this IC and the address generation process of the frame memory. In the JPEG coding module, after an expatiation upon the basic flow and main steps of the JPEG algorithm, the paper puts an emphases on its implementation based on DSP, and gets favorable effect.The software is composed with two main parts-collecting and processing. The thesis shows us how the two parts of the software work and complete their functions and source program would make us clearer.
