The Research And Realization Of The Simulation Model Of VANET Routing Protocol

Vehicle Ad Hoc Network is a mobile wireless self-organized network that runs on the road. VANET has good application prospects and research values, it not only realizes accident alarm, improves traffic safety, but realizes road traffic information inquiries and entertainment services. It provides powful support to the development of intelligent transportation system. Research related to Vehicle ad hoc network has become one of the research hot topic currently. Research on routing protocol is utmost important for VANET communication, since its performance directly affects the communication quality among vehicles. The performance evaluation of routing protocol for VANET requires VANET simulation model. However, VANET simulation model is different from common simulation model. The design of VANET simulation model directly affects the performance evaluation of routing protocol. Therefore, constructing a VANET simulation model in accord with reality has great signicance on the routing protocol research.This thesis makes research on VANET simulation model for routing protocol, which combines the research on VANET simulation model and the research on VANET protocol, designs and realizes VANET simulation model detailedly considering some factors, and does a series of simulation experiments for two common-used routing protocols based on the designed simulation model, completing the performance evaluation and analysis of routing protocols above the VANET simulatioon model.This thesis makes the research work as follows:(1)Analyzes the development of VANET simulation model;(2)Constructs a VANET simulation model based on self-defined road map, illustrating the control method and the position calculating method for vehicle movement, and deeply discussing various rules for turnning or going straight at crossroad and the method of car speed limitation for keeping safety distance.(3)Makes performance evaluation and simulation results analysis for the routing protocol AODV and DSR based on the designed model via NS2 simulation tool to validate the effectiveness of the designed VANET simulation model.
