As we all know, light is the soul of TV arts. All the features of reality andvitality that audiences see through the screen must rely on the rendering oflight. Therefore, the lighting design becomes a very important aspect in thewhole process of program production. That lighting design is reasonable or notwill directly affect the audiences'desire to watch. Similarly, the lightingdesign of talk show which is most similar to original interpersonalcommunication also has great influences on psychological reaction whenaudiences receive information from programs. My research comprehensively uses qualitative and quantitative research methods.Through the analysis on video programs and the actual case investigation, usingliterature research, case study, observation and questionnaire, my researchpays great attention to the effects that the lighting design of talk showsmakes on audiences'cognitive psychology with the help of color science, cognitive psychology and other related theories.Starting from the relations among light, shadow and color, this paper mainly discussesthe effects that tone of shadow makes on audiences'cognitive psychology andthe effects that tone of color makes. In the light of the relationship betweenlight and color, the second part stresses the effects in terms of color'spsychological feelings. In addition, I collect lots of fresh data frominterviews and questionnaire when working at Tencent Expo Project as acameraman. By analyzing and generalizing these data I summarize severalconclusions which give strong evidence that the front discussion is reasonable. Finally, I make a profound reflection on the limitations of my researchaccording to current development in related fields and put forward thepossibility of follow-up study.
