Reversing news,as a new format,has been greatly intensified in recent years.In 2011,the Public Opinion Monitoring Office of People's Daily Online reported the phenomenon of reversal news for the first time.Relevant statistics were released almost every year since then.In 2013,Xinhua.com selected "Top Ten News Reversal Plays";in 2014,the Observers selected "Eight reversal news of the year"...Reversing news stories varies dramatically in causes and events from each other,and have different effects.In fact,frequent occurrences of reversal news are constantly dispelling audiences' trust on the public media.In the past,news medias were authoritative organizations that provided reliable information to the audience,which they used to recognize and understand the world.In the world filled with reversing news,knowledges that had been accepted by audiences as the “truth” can be completely overturned and renewed again and again.Audiences' cognitions,emotional activations and behaviors are also changing constantly during this process.This article attempts to apply different theories from communication,psychology,journalism and other relevant fields,following the logical pathway of academic research,concept definition,theoretical research,case analysis,impact assessment,optimization and avoidance,to select some influential reversing news in the period of 2015-2017.This article will also randomly select four of the these news as the research samples for case studies.By analyzing the psychology effects on audiences in the four pieces of reversal news,this paper will analyze the phenomenon of “reversal news” in the current space-time environment,discusses both the positive and negative consequences of reversing news phenomenon.Since the focus of existing researches on reversal news are mainly on media's role in reversing news production processes but neglecting the role of audiences,this article will examine the interaction between audiences and reversal news from the perspective of audience psychology.It also points out its negative effects on audiences,media,and society.Lastly,it explores the optimization and avoidance paths for reversing news.
