Digital Display Of Radar Imagery

Data acquisition, signal processing and information display of radar are important components of Radar Display System. The main missions in this research is achieving Radar Display System, including radar and objectives' state information, the state control of radar, and design the friendly user interface.With the rapid development of computer technology, the scheme of radar display system that implemented with PC and digital sampling device has been proposed. This research is based on this scheme and the practical requirements and directions of development for marine navigation radar.The system can sample the radar echo in high speed, and process radar signal by the universal programmable chip. The software programs make varieties of information fusing with the radar data display in the terminal together.Besides antenna and transceiver of marine radar, the devices of system include transform circuit, signal processing platform and monitor.The analog radar echo is converted into digital signal by A/D, which can be processed by the universal DSP and FPGA. The board communicates with computer through the high speed CPCI bus, and then the radar data is used by the display terminal. The display terminal bases on DirectDraw of DirectX and the graphic display of DirectDraw environment is constructed in the Visual C++6.0 with the MFC. The radar scans with the radar antenna simultaneously. The key issues in the radar system have been solved, which are data transmission, coordinate conversion and the radar image correctly. A friendly interface has been designed, which can adjust the display range and set the parameters of radar, and is easy to operate. The radar target data can be saved to the hard disk, which makes it expedient to look over the relevant data.This thesis, depriving from the basic Sci & Tech researching project of "the research of digital processing method of intermediate frequency signal for marine radar " supported by the Ministry of Transport. The system of radar can well implement the signal acquisition, signal processing, data transmission between the board and the computer, and radar data terminal display. The system has achieved the better real time radar image. So this system can evaluate the results of processing marine radar signal.
