| THE News Channel of CCTV as a national news channel had done 6 revisions since 1993. Every revision could be the hottest topic in TV circles.In 2009, the News Channel of CCTV had done the 6th revision which is a large one. Therefore this dissertation which chose the revision by the News Channel of CCIV as the subject has great practical significance. This paper applied the method of literature review, mathematical statistics, and experts'interviews. The author had been an intern since April 2009 at the China Central Television News Channel. As a result, the author had witnessed the whole progress of revision and had the first-hand information.Based on the background of the revision, the author tried to detail every part of the news channel revision. From the social benefit, economic benefit, audience ratings, audience satisfaction point of view, the 6th revision of the News Channel of CCTV is pretty successful. The most important part of the sixth revision is strengthening DESK features, updating channel design package, changing hosts'voice etc. After this revision, we could see that the News Channel of CCTV increase the number of news reporting and also increase the proportion of dynamic news, live broadcasting. But in the planning, the revision time, role and program content, there are still some problems. For example:the interviewer should improve the standard of interview and the reporter needs higher requirements dealing with the news. Trying to discover the weakness of the sixth revision is the last part of this dissertation. Those problems are as follow. Between different groups and different TV programs, there are so many distinct ideas. The sixth revision is just not the right time for the News Channel of CCTV.
