| An exploration is made in the thesis of the development of the news channel in China Central Television (CCTV) and in other televisions across China. The thesis is divided into four chapters: Chapter 1statistically shows the achievements and four edition corrections since the establishment of CCTV news channel. Set up in 2003, CCTV news channel has made remarkable progress and achievements during so short a period with viewing ratio and TV share steadily increased yearly. Chapter 2 tries to investigate the background of the fourth edition correction of CCTV news channel. Although the viewing ratio of CCTV news channel is higher than that of satellite TVs, it is actually lower than that of local news programs and local news channel. Local news programs and programs about local people and people's life have the powerful impact on CCTV news channel. Therefore, there is a huge gap between the contemporary development of CCTV news channel and its goal of being a window to the world and an internationalized news channel. These are the intrinsic reasons for CCTV news channel's fourth edition correction. In Chapter 3, a contemplation and exploration is made of the future of CCTV news channel and nationwide news channels. CCTV news channel, a representative of specialized news channel, should establish authoritative image in news report, and with the development of Chinese democracy and politics, advance along the road of focusing on the people and people's life. In its operation, a reference should be boldly made to the operating modes and models of advanced media home and abroad: pays expenses channel, star anchors, conformity operation, capital operation.The thesis studies the operating environment and situation of the domestic news channels, then compares the development and characteristics of the news channels home and abroad which is followed by analyzing the 4th edition correction of CCTV news channel to explore the background and motive force of this edition correction, and finally makes an exploration on the sound and healthy development of Chinese news channels aiming at making contributions to the development of news channels and programs in China. |
