Water is the source of life and is connected to all ecosystems of the bond. It is for the survival of mankind for life and of decisive significance. Water promotes the economic development of mankind, such as hydropower, irrigation, industrial process water and so on. In order to fully and rationally utilizing water resources, management of water resources and the scheduling is very necessary. Gates is to realize the important means of water resource management and scheduling, and also play a significant positive effect in many ways, such as flood control, industrial production and irrigation. So building automated control gates, to achieve safe, efficient and convenient control of gate, not only has economic importance, but also some strategic significance.People Canal Irrigation District of Dujiangyan is one of the important areas of agricultural irrigation in Sichuan Province, and the group of gate head of people canal plays a key role in the downstream water regulation and flood control along the coast. However, at the 5.12 earthquake, the group of gate head of people canal has been so seriously damaged that caused great losses to agricultural production in irrigated area.In order to reduce losses , building monitoring system as soon as possible for the group of gate head of people canal is necessary.Based on the analysis of the needs of Monitoring and Control project for the group of gate head of people canal of Dujiangyan, following certain design principles, combined with the idea of distributed control system, the system integration is designed. And in considering system reliability, economy, easy operation and maintenance of the circumstances, the gate control system to determine the distributed structure. Site monitoring station designed to PLC (programmable controller) as the core, to achieve on-site gate control and water-related equipment, data acquisition; system network design uses standard, open technology and anti-interference ability, high-fiber economy Ethernet, and the actual situation of the project, the use of star and tree topology for hybrid networks, constitute the many gates and canal water quality field measurement field measurements controllers distributed network of controllers. The design of remote monitoring station to the computer and Kingview industrial configuration software as a platform, constitutes the main monitoring station; in order to protect system reliability, designed based on PLC and touch screen computer monitor standby monitoring stations and stations Hot Standby system; to effective remote intervention, manual focus on the design of the remote station, remote monitoring station as a complement and backup equipment. This paper not only focused on bottom-up design of the monitoring station, but also the structure and monitoring system network communication station made a detailed introduction.Through debugging of the whole system, achieve the normal operation of the system and the system design requirements. Has been handed over to the users from the system is stable, and achieved good social and economic benefits.
