In the field of industrial control, remote monitoring system is widely used to achieve real-time data collection, transmission and processing, as well as monitoring and control on fielddevices. It is of great significance in reducing production costs, improving management anddecision-making, and upgarding the production technology. The thesis is based on a sub-topicin the field of industrial control, remote monitoring system is widely used to achieve real-timedata collection, transmission and processing, as well as monitoring and control on field devices. The thesis is based on a sub-topic of a coopreation project between a researh institute and a Thailand company. The thesis focuses onthe design of an Ethernet-based remote-controlling system, which enables headquarter of a company to monitor and control field devices and environment of its subsidiaries.On analyzingthe current development status of remote monitoring technology and Ethernet technology, thisthesis makes an overall design of remote monitoring system, arguing and selecting main modules of the system, elaborating hardware circuit design of each module, system software design of master controller, and design and implementation of Ethernet network protocol.The thesis is composed of the following key points:(1)Based on development status of aremote monitoring system, analyze and summarize fieldbus technology and Ethernet technology used in remote monitoring system, and select Ethernet commnication as the method for remote data transmission.(2)Make overall design of remote monitoring system according to design requirement of the project. Taking into account the specific conditions of implementatioin,dertermine master controller to be STM32F103, a32-bit microproessor based on ARM CortexTM-M3, and ethernet controller to be ENC28J60.(3)Make master controller moudle and ethernet controller module for the remote monitoring system, collect data with sensor and transfer data to a remote computer via Ethernet for real-time display.(4)With TCP/IP protocol as the network communication protocol, finish the program design of master controller for IP configuration and TCP/IP protocol configuration.(5)Design webpage of the remote monitoring system according to monitoring requirement of the project.Test results show that Ethernet-based remote monitoring system designed in this thesis can achieve diverse monitoring via computers, smart phones or other system monitoring terminal. Update of monitoring data and control of device status can be done in real time. The monitoring system is also characterized by low power consumption, low cost and simple maintenance among others.The Ethernet monitoring system meets project requirement and achieves desired results. It will have broad application prospects in industrial control, networking and other areas.
