The new generation motion control system SIMOTION, produced by Siemens, which integrating motion control and drive control together, has been gotten extreme attention and application in mechanical manufacture field. It can meet the special need of high speed and precision. On one hand, with the growth of scale of enterprises, long distance or step region control phenomenon appears between top management team and some local equipment. On the other hand, the traditional dealer’s service is door-to-door by appointment. However, this conventional maintenance idea and mode can’t satisfy the customers whose request is maintaining equipment quickly and timely. This text builds a remote control system based on Internet after deeply acquainting and analyzing some critical technologies of network remote monitor system to solve these problems.The paper studies SIMOTION D410 in order to design remote monitor control system and fulfill its function by using relevant software and hardware equipments and technologies. It mainly includes six aspects. First, the issue analyses the definition and features of remote monitor control system and studies the present condition of remote control system domestically and abroad. Second, it studies the basic network knowledge and prevailing technologies involved in remote monitor control system. For example, industry Ethernet technology and virtual private network technology and so on, it offers necessary theories and foundation to design and study Internet remote monitor control system. Third, it analyses SIMOTION motion control system by using SCOUT and VPN to configurate motion controller and fulfills the goal of remote control. Fourth, it studies the structure of remote monitor control system, the ways to monitor and frequently used network security technologies like data encryption technique, firewall technique and network isolation technique and so on. Fifth, it designs the whole remote monitor control system. Combining the features of SIMOTION motion controller and focusing on idiographic ProSafe FVS338 type virtual private network firewall and D-link804HV type virtual private network router, it makes the nationwide, even global network connection through remote monitor control system according to different VPN tunnel agreements. Sixth, under different network conditions (telecommunication, netcom, education network, extranet), it tests the connection between different VNP server and motion controller SIMOTION D410.The remote monitor system proposed in this paper has been used in practice. The application result proves that the remote monitor system can connect motion controller in different network environment and shorten special equipment’s respond time of remote monitor, forecasts, diagnosis and maintenance. It can also provide timely and effective remote technology support. Attached value of equipment embed this motion control system is enlarged evidently.
