Along with the coming of the knowledge economy era and explosive growth of information technology, timely and accurate information become required for making right decisions and achieving business successes. Also, people turn to attach importance to learning, which makes knowledge become valuable resource not only for individuals, but also for organizations. In this knowledge economy era, the traditional websites cannot fit people's needs well on the Internet because of the dated design ideas, information dissemination lag and low reliability. A new efficient intelligent communication and knowledge management platform is needed. Moreover, for the major Internet companies tend to pay more attention to front-end developing, the number of front-end developers is increasing, which brings about issues of front-end performance optimization and coding standards. Using its advanced ideas and good design pattern, modular front-end development technology resolves the problems above. It becomes more and more popular. The modular front-end development based social and knowledge website, which is introduced in this paper, is a RSS (Really Simple Syndication) news aggregation platform, which integrates a variety of Web2.0 applications on the news system. Initially, the system builds the next generation of semantic search engine, providing a more accurate entity searching technique than the physical text searching technique. It not only integrates the community-based and knowledge-based website features into website designing, but also follows the modular front-end development idea in website development. The system is composed of six modules:"Newbie Guide", "Site Settings", "News Searching and Displaying", "Video, Book, Document Searching and Displaying", "Library Management". The author's main work is as follows:1. Independently developed three modules:"Newbie Guide", "Site Settings" and "Library Management". "Newbie Guide" module is composed of three submodules: "Registration", "Login" and "Site Introduction". "Site Settings" module is composed of four submodules:"User Information Management", "News Interest Management", "Preference Management" and "Password Changing". "Library Management" module is composed of three submodules:"Folder Management" "File Management" and "File Uploading"2. Took part in the development of one module:"News Searching and Displaying", which is composed of four submodules:"News Searching", "News Displaying", "News Reacting" and "Record Displaying". Most functions in "News Displaying" and "News Reacting" are developed independently by the author.3. Independently developed all pages in the website. The system is on-line now and each module in it is running well. It is able to meet the user's application requirements.
