Study On The Construction Of Question Answering Website For University Library

At the day of well-developed internet and overwhelming information,the libraries have transferred from digital libraries that provide information services to intelligent libraries that provide knowledge services.Question answering(QA)website is a knowledge-serving tool,which organized by the sharing of knowledge and information between users and could be used to serve university students and professors by the university library.The usage of QA website as the platform of library online service not only can keep the advantages of library's abundant collection and professional librarians but also will improve the efficiency and quality of services and build a knowledge-serving platform that can meet users' needs in the internet environment.This paper is based on the Information Architecture theory of Rosenfeld and Morville and the theory of social space architecting.First,a cooperative study was applied to investigate the information architecture features and QA features of the popular QA websites.Successful experience has been learned and referred to.Second,the paper has made further discussion on the feasibility of building library QA website.The foundation,investment,and user market have been examined,the popular QA system software have been specifically researched,and the user group from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics have been investigated by conducting questionnaire surveys.It has been proved that the feasibility of establishing library QA website is high.Third,the paper has constructed information architecture on the Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics' library QA website based on the lessons learned from popular QA websites and users' opinions from the surveys.The QA website has applied one QA system software and has been proved running successfully by testing.This paper has researched on how to use question-answering technology to help provide library services and knowledge sharing services.It provides a good foundation with research and survey to establishing a library QA website.Its method of information architecture building with website development is a repeatable and effective solution for other libraries to build QA websites,and each library can adjust the solution to build its individual QA website.Further development and adjustment on the QA system could be conducted based on a library's own circumstances.
