Recent years, with the development of power information technology, Chinese power enterprises have built an enterprise information integration platform on which data are vertically connected and horizontally integrated, and business applications such as ERP, production and marketing are built. As the business applications continues to integrate, information sharing and data integrating among business applications, as well as integration of management information and real-time production information, have to be achieved regulately, reliablely, variously and flexiblely, so that the wish to build Chinese power enterprises into international first-class enterprises could be fulfilled. Currently, since different business applications are provided by different developers, there are differences between data model, application interface and development platform. Each application requires particular data interfaces program for other applications to share information. As the demand increasing, this approach will bring high costs, difficulties in management and maintenance, inflexible to achieve interoperability among various applications and other problems. To solve them, the IEC has proposed a series of standard like IEC61970/IEC61968, in which CIM and CIS are the core contents. CIM unifies power system model and CIS defines a standard interface specification, which is the basis for realization of "seamless" and "plug and play" among business applications.Based on public information model project of State Grid Corporation, this paper started from IEC international standards, solved problems on data sharing exchange model and standardization of interfaces among business system; further studied IEC61970/IEC61968 standard and its associated UML, XML, RDF technology, and discussed the concept and characteristics of CIM, the composition and structure of CIS, etc. Besides, in consideration of characteristics of China power enterprises business system, sharing exchange is classified into 12 main areas, including customer, product, equipment, network, market, security, personnel, material, financial, asset and project, to establish public information model of China power enterprise, to research and develop the unified standardization interface of CIS,and to achieve data sharing and exchange by CIM/XML document. Unified expression and access channels for data in different levels, systems and structures have been initially achieved.Scheme of common data sharing between different apply systems is completed.
