With the development of computer technology and modern communication technology, the network and component technology are widely used in the automation software of power system. The process bus of substation bay level and power utility integration bus of control center, thus, will be interconnected. A lot of SOAP-based technology, such as CORBA, EJB, DCOM and XML Web Service, will be applied on Power System Automation & Control.For the development of Component-integration, not only has the interoperation mechanism between components to be supplied, but also the CIM and CIS between them should be defined. So IEC puts forward IEC 61970 specification series, which make EMS easily component-integrated, plug-and-play, open and interconnected. They also reduce the cost of integration and protect the resource of customers. CIM is an important tool of application integration on power system, which includes public classes, attributes, associations etc. Among them, classes are abstract. CIM is a kind of information exchange model and it is the soul of logical data structure. CIM can be used in many power system applications.The problems existing in present information integration of power system are introduced in this paper and the solutions are then given. The author has developed a CIM/XML based software platform, which is a part of the CIM/XML project supported by Hangzhou Power Utility.SVG based power system graphics exchange and cooperation between IEC 61970 and IEC 61850 are finally discussed in this paper.
