Optimal design of permanent magnet motor is meaningful to shorten design cycle, develop high performance permanent magnet motor and construct harmonious and saving society.The paper discusses design characteristics and basic design method of low speed and high torque PMSM. A program is compiled based on Matlab. Proper fraction winding. reasonable pole arc coefficient and skew slot are adopted to eliminate cogging torque and torque ripple, and to improve stationary at low speed. Two-dimensional simulation and analysis is carried out with Ansoft software, in which the magnetic field distribution and characteristics are analyzed. The results show that the magnetic field is reasonable and the characteristics are perfect. The design and analysis method are proofed to be effective.The immune memory, concentration inhibition, and keeping diversity of immune system are combined with standard genetic algorithm. And the immune genetic algorithm is realized with Matlab software. The strategy of adaptive adjustment for parameters based affinity is realized in immune genetic algorithm. This algorithm not only has the characteristics of global optimization and parallel optimization, but also utilizes immune principle to improve optimization ability and effectiveness. The algorithm is applied to search maximum value of test function. Optimal results show that immune algorithm is of high and valid searching ability.The optimal mathematical model based on immune algorithm is built up. With Matlab language, the immune algorithm is combined with electromagnetic design program, and an optimization design program of PMSM is accomplished and debugged successfully. An optimal electromagnetic scheme is obtained with the optimization design program based on immune algorithm.
