As the demand of the color reproduction quality is increasing, the International Color Consortium (ICC) proposed the standard of color management. The key of the color management is to get the accurate profile. However, because of the hardware and software errors, different requirements in color reproduction of all kinds of users, and imperfect profile editor function in the traditional color management software and so on, the profile which is used in manufacturing process can not completely meet the needs of users.To solve these problems, this paper focuses on the technology of editing the output device profile and implements the editor software. This system is composed of three parts:the analysis and identification of editing parameters, color transform, color gamut visualization. In the first part, by describing the principle of selecting parameters, the specific solution is proposed. In the second part, the image soft proofing is achieved using the conventional color management technology. In the third part, the image and the profile color gamut visualization are achieved. Simultaneously, the other profile color gamut visualization algorithm is identified, the efficiency of which has been greatly improved comparing with the conventional method. According to the above research results, the satisfied profiles can be got by observing the adjustment effects of the reference image. Finally, experiments show that the profile which is gained by this new method is more accurate than the original one.
