This paper focuses on the research on pseudo-color technology of scientific visualization. The lager-scale data, which is created in science and engineering calculation, can be perceived in a more direct way. Therefore, in this way, some abstract rules and theories would be much easier to understand. The color plays a extremely vital role in the scientific visualization of the data field. Theories of color contrast and harmony and psychology about color are used in pseudo-color coding, some researches on pseudo-color coding method are made. Using the theory of color harmony in pseudo-color technology, equal chromatic aberration pseudo-color coding methods are presented. The color which is got by these methods are approximate even, namely on different gray level, correspondence chromatic aberration of neighboring gray levels are almost equal. Using theory of color contrast in pseudo-color technology, non-equal chromatic aberration pseudo-color coding methods are given. There is a great difference between corresponding colors of neighboring gray levels that is obtained by these methods. According to different requirements, the corresponding models are established. So the pseudo-color picture is more to conform to visual experience and the useful information can be separated out from the pseudo-color picture more conveniently. The pseudo-color processing of data field is described. The problem of how to get a pseudo-color picture through color psychological sensation and physical feeling, which is consistent with sensation experience, is also discussed.
