Study And Implementation Of Device Software Driver For GL847-based Large-format Image Capturing System

The CCD image sensor and scan controller are the core of a scanner, and only a thorough grasp of their related core technology can we develop higher performance scanners.This paper devises and implements a format-changeable image capturing system by participating in the whole development process of a new type of large format CCD scanner. It employs a new generation high performance GL847 scanner controller to take on the complex control of scanning and real-time processing of large volume of image data. Every aspect of functionalities and control techniques of the signal processing pipeline are deeply studied and explored through experiments. The implementation of a software driver under Linux makes it effective to capture images and confirms the feasibility and effectivity of the new design.
