Design And Implementation Of Driver Software Of Large Format Scanner

A large format scanner is a specialized kind of scanner with large availablescanning area, high resolution and high quality, so it’s widely used in variousprofessional image fields, and its characteristics make it difficult to develop the wholescanner system.This paper adopts the variable format as the whole system architecture afteranalyzing the advantages and disadvantages of the different large format scanner systemarchitectures, and divides the system into three layers based on the hierarchical design:the top device driver layer, the middle embedded control system layer and the bottomhardware layer, then lay emphasis on the design and implement of the top device driverlayer. First, the design of the frame and GUI of the device driver is presented, and onthis basis the principle and implement of scanner device calibration and imageenhancement are described in detail. Device calibration includes offset and gain shading,and image enhancement includes image brightness, contrast, Gamma adjustment andimage sharpening. Finally, the design and implement of the network communicationmodule based on TCP which is responsible for transferring image and control messagebetween the top and middle layer are presented.The feasibility and effectiveness of the top device driver layer are validatedthrough the on-line debugging of the whole scanner system.
