Development Of Device Driver Software For GL847-based Large-format Scanner System

Large format scanners have promising market, it were mainly used in inputting andprocessing engineering drawings, geographical information systems, art reproduction,and plate-making industry. Currently, users of large format scanner want to improveimage accuracy and increase scanning speed. So it is inevitable to make the researchand develop a new generation of large format scanners.Based on the analysis of traditional large format scanner，the thesis proposed a newsingle CCD scanner with changeable format. The system consists of three layers: theupper layer of image processing software, the middle layer of embedded driver controlprogram, and the bottom layer of the data collection hardware. The system uses a newgeneration of high-performance scanner controller GL847as the core of image datacollection module. Firstly, further exploration and analysis are made on the workingprinciple of GL847to achieve image data collection and processing which are the corefunctions of the scanner. Secondly, network transmission module is programmed toachieve the function of receiving control command from the upper software and sendingimages, and finally an embedded Linux platform is built to provide an operatingenvironment for driver program, the feasibility and effectiveness of the embeddedsoftware are validated through the on-line debugging of the entire system.
