Metallographic specimen polishing machine is mainly used for polishing metallographic specimen and polishing process, widely used in machinery, metallurgy, automotive, aerospace, etc. Metallographic specimen polishing machine is in the process of metallographic analysis, one of the important equipment,With the development of science and technology, metallographic technology will also with the development of industry and development. Metallographic specimen grinds and polishing metallographic samples preparation process is one of the important links, Realization of high quality and sample polishing high automation has become the inevitable direction.According to the requirements of metallographic specimen polishing, this article has studied mechanical polishing machine mechanism motion principle and metallographic spe -cimen polishing process of DMP - 4A10 . Studied and designed synchronous belt transmission system of stepping motor and buf -fing pads. Designed the shell of metallographic polishing machine by wiredrawing stainless steel material. This article adopts electrome- chanical integration system design idea, design of polishing machine control system, realized the polishing the diversification of and humanization.The metallographic specimen polishing machine control system to the letter PLC of XC3 - 24RT - E as the core, believe TP765 - T touch screen for display terminals, both for serial communication. PLC concentrated complete data processing and control tasks complete set parameters, touch screen display function, touch screen and control infor -mation transmitted through serial PLC. According to users set of PLC polishing mode and polishing parameters, controled a steping motor driver, a cooling fluid pumps, a low-speed synchronous motor, an electromagnet and a proportion servo valves, makes buffing pads, power head, cooling fluid pumps coordinate action, and completed polishing task. System usesed travel switch to limit, ensure the safety of polishing process.In automatic polishing mode, used incremental encoder of Ruipu technology companies'ZSP3806 - 003G - 600BZ1-12-24C and XC3-24RT– E high-speed counting unit of Xinjie, real-time control and testing polishing machine pressure and dynamic head position , instead of on the polishing potentiator of DMP - 4A10 , achieved precise control of pressure and improves the system anti-jamming. Designed for touch screen input module, provided a beautiful and practical, safe and reliable man-machine interface for PLC. System used SH-2H110M driver of Beijing starr micro steps control technology company, drived stepping motor of 110BYG450C ,driven for variable frequency speed regulation and direction's control by pulse output of PLC in approximate constant torque frequency range. Compared with DC motor control scheme of power as pads , it reduced the cost of control, and improved the system's stability.This polishing machine control system has two kinds work style of automatic and manual. Designed soft start-up and soft stop program for stepping motor. In automatic polishing mode ,it designed program of suspended and on electricity reset, with improved polishing ability and practical of polishing machine.The reliability of polishing machine is studied and measures of the anti-interference in design. After the design of the software and hardware of the machine, this article completed the installation and commissioning for the machine, and reached the desired effect.
