With the development in LCD field, LCD has become most popular technology and R&D hot point, and quickly occupied the market share of flat panel display. In the LCD manufacturing process, the friction orientation for this part of the liquid crystal molecules in the liquid crystal cell uniform arrangement can play a key role.Automatic Rubbing Machine Based on PLC and Touch Screen is the equipment used for rubbing alignment process.Firstly, based on the detailed understanding of the rubbing alignment process,three possible control program is proposed.Comparative advantages and disadvantages of three programs in conjunction with the rubbing machine control tasks to be accomplished,select the PLC as the core control scheme, by the positioning module to complete the rubbing machine for each axis of motion control, combined with Pro-face touch screen as man-machine interactive system.Then completed the hardware design and build,use QD75P2 module for servo motor control,QD70P8 complete stepper motor control,analog output module to complete the brushless DC motor control;touch screen module communication with PLC as the HMI system of rubbing machine,complete operational control and the input of various parameters;CC-Link communication system to complete the rubbing machine host machine upstream and downstream machines.Finally, the preparation of the procedures related to motion control and touch screen procedures to complete Control Systems Design of Automatic Rubbing Machine.Through this research project, successfully developed a suitable 14 in × 14 in and 16 in ×16in glass substrate rubbing alignment equipment.The machine has stably worked almost a year,and had a good rubbing effect,the machine ultimately reached the preliminary design requirements.
