With the rapid development of the computer hardware and software and the mature of the Internet and wireless communications technology, monitor system which based on embedded and wireless network plays a more and more important role in each field, such as security alarm, unmanned monitoring, power, petroleum, coal, special industry for remote monitoring, mining and other industries especially those who collect distribution range and quantity, distance, high-risk, cannot use wired remote, etc., For the demand of unattended this paper used the existing GPRS wireless network resources and network coverage, high transmission performance advantages, puts forward a kind of wireless computer monitoring system based on GPRS network Service, the computer monitoring system for the existing monitoring system provides a convenient means of monitoring, the wireless will become an trend of industrial control and monitoring, and can be widely used inFirstly, the paper reviewed the wireless computer monitoring system application situation and development prospect, and made a detailed description and research for the principle of embedded system and GPRS. The paper designed the wireless computer monitoring system which linked well with the intelligent device of wire computer monitoring system according to the actual needs. The paper mainly researched two aspects:on the one hand is embedded hardware, including the selection of the microprocessor and GPRS module,circuit design, on the other hand is software, providing targeted encapsulation protocols through the research of embedded TCP/IP protocol and SOCKET (SOCKET) programming, researching the use method of short messages and MMS in the embedded environment,then realized the functions of remote monitoring.We have achieved expected effect through trial operation, testing. The result proves that the basic technical performance index system meets the design requirements, the successful implementation of the continuous monitoring data for long-distance transmission function, including data through preaching, SMS, MMS alarm functions, provides a convenient way of wireless data transmission for long-distance data monitoring system, not only can replace the existing cable monitoring surveillance system, but also can coexist with cable monitoring system.
