With the development of computer software, hardware and the image disposing technology, embedded monitoring system plays a more and more important role in the video monitoring field. Especially for the unattended stations such as factory workshop and warehouse, a remote wireless monitoring system is designed with the core processor of ARM, which is able to transfer data via GPRS network to monitor remote scene. The whole structure will be introduced first, which contains hardware and software solution. Then some basic theories will be involved. The design is consist of the chip S3C2410 produced by Samsung, USB camera with the cheap and fine chip of ZC301, and the GPRS module TC35i from Siemens. The system completes to transplant Linux to the embedded system and designs the general processing flow and achieves the goals: First, users send the command by SMS. Second, TC35i will receive the message and deliver it to ARM processor. Third, the process will analyze the message and send orders to the controlling devices. Finally, the GPRS module will send an email to the customer. In addition, the system is designed of modules which will be introduced and analyzed, such as SMS disposing module and SMTP mailing module.
